What is the Value of a College Degree

09 Nov

Greek philosopher Aristotle (384 BC-322 BC) once said that education is an ornament during prosperity and a refuge in adversity.  Education is a lifelong process, and is not limited to institutional study only. Nevertheless, without institutional study, students’ minds cannot be focused in the pursuit of excellence and growth. From early schooling to a college degree, the long years of devotion are priceless. While an Ivy League college degree can’t guarantee a successful life, it certainly won’t hurt your chances.

Large parts of the global population are school dropouts. No matter what the circumstance might be, every student should at least diligently attempt to complete a college degree program. The value of a college degree always increases as we gain experience in life. Even though getting a degree is expensive, it can be considered a solid investment into the future – much like any other large purchase like buying a new car or a home. The benefits to be reaped from a college degree are countless, especially in four particular aspects.

Financial Prosperity – Greater Income Opportunity

The U.S. Census Bureau shows that professionals with a college degree earn twice as much as those who are drop-outs or limited to high school learning. It is a fact that in the professional world, employers impart preference to the highly educated because they bring with them a greater skill and knowledge base.

For this reason, the college degree-holding professionals are given higher salary packages and benefits. In fact, such people are less dependent on state funded relief measures. Throughout their life, there is no dearth of income opportunities. The college degree is a tool for success until the day you die.

Better Quality of Life – Self Confidence and Independent Living

Since a college degree ensures improved financial well-being, the quality of life automatically increases. The person feels self-confident and independent; there is even an increased life expectancy. For instance, look at the booming life expectancy in Japan. Their education facilities ensure that every student uses their degree for their benefit. Add to this educational improvement and considerations such as better medical facilities and national growth, and it’s clear: the population in Japan earn and lead a better quality of life.

Legacy to Our Children – Knowing the Importance of Education

By being college educated, we leave our children the legacy of a foundation they can build upon. The U.S. Department of Education records are evidence that children of college-educated professionals perform well academically and are inclined towards higher education. Your education helps create the next generation of intelligent and informed humans, establishing part of the global community responsible for moving civilization forward.

National Integration

As the cornerstone of public progress and national development, education is the binding force for national integration. Educated individuals are informed thinkers, are analytical in their communal approach, and contribute immensely to the growth of their economy and thereby their nation. Education involves active participation in a democratic economy.

To conclude, in terms of investment, education alone gives an individual the highest returns in the form of financial prosperity, improved living, a legacy for children, and national growth. Can today’s society truly afford to sacrifice it for anything?

Messerschmitt Bf 109 The Most Memorable German Fighter Plane

02 Feb

MESSERCHMITT BF 109

The Messerschmitt Bf 109 is the most used fighter plane by the German in the Second World War. They were produced extensively during the war and were the most respected fighter planes. The Luftwaffe fighter was produced extensively during the war. Nine different variations of the model by Willy Messerschmitt were used in the war. It is estimated that more than 30000 of these planes were produced in the war.

The fighter was first introduced in the Spanish Civil War. The plane was used by the Spanish Air Force till 1967. The plane was designed in 1920. So the plane remained for service for almost 30 years. Initially the company formed by Dr. Willy Messerchmitt didn’t get great support from the German government. But the situation changed in 1933 when the company of Dr. Willy Messerchmitt called BFW was invited by Luftwaffe for designing sports plane.

The resultant design Bf 108 was actually the predecessor of the 109. It was in action in 1934, February. Even though the flight showed further developments of the fighter plane was not grated to Messerchmitt. Finally Messerchmitt was granted a design of a fighter with no guarantee of a production. The first mode of the Bf 109V-1 was ready in August, 1935. The design of the aircraft was challenging during the period of 1935. It had a low wing with all metal construction monoplanes. The cockpit had a single seat and had a fully enclosed canopy.

Pilots were not too happy in the beginning to use the plane due the closed canopy. The Bf 109V-1 went for its first ride in September 1935. The speed of the aircraft attracted Luftwaffe and that backed up the redesign of the plane. The Bf 109 V-3 was the first to be converted into a fighter plane. Soon the flaws in the design of other aircraft made the Messerschmitt creation to be popular in the war field.

The Development Of German Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe / Sturmvogel

06 Jan

The Messerschmitt Me 262 Schwalbe was the first operational turbojet in the world. This was designed and developed by the Messerschmitt Company. The design was done in the year 1938. It was first flown on July 18, 1942. It was much faster than the existing fighter jets of that period. The development of the jet in large quantities was delayed later due to development problems.

GERMAN MESSERSCHMITT

This was during the period of the Second World War and the bombings by the Allied forces were also behind the inability for further developments. The actual development of the Messerschmitt Me 262 was done in late 1943 after an agreement with Adolf Hitler. He wanted the plane to be primarily designed as a fighter and bomber.

This resulted in the mass production of the aircraft. Messerschmitt Me 262 became the first air jet to be used for war. It was used on July 25, 1944 to attack the British fighter planes for the first. This development of this aircraft resulted in gaining advantage over the Allied forces by the Germans.

It was estimated that more than 1400 Messerschmitt Me 262 were produced during the war. But most of them was not able to be completed into a fully fighter bombers. Only 300 of them were used as fighter planes. Most of them were destroyed in the ground during the bombing by allied forces.

The lack of fuel and spare parts were other problems that affected the Germans during that period. The unavailability of trained pilots to fly the turbo jet also caused problems. But the name will remain in the history as the first operational jet air fighter. It was best air fighter available at that period. The delay in the development due to political disagreements was one reason for the failure of Germans during the war. Its arrival in the war was delayed due to this.
