The second method of learning Spanish through movies is through dubbing. Today DVD’s can handle dialogue translation in addition to the original film. Here one can hear the conversations in Spanish. If one knows the movie in English by hearing the dialogues in Spanish, one can recite the words in English and can understand Spanish better and can easily learn it. Dubbing generally uses native speakers for the translation so that there cannot be much problem in understanding the words.

This is much better than the subtitles as we can only see the lines in subheadings whereas listening improves pronunciation. Some of the excellent Spanish films include Y Tu Mama Tambien, The Motorcycle Diaries and Amores Perros. These Spanish language films may not be seen in most of the theatres in sub urban regions. But in large cities we can see these films shown in theatres and these types of films will definitely have the subheadings so language may not be an obstacle and one can easily understand this.
